ICEH is selecting research assistant

The International Center for Equity in Health (ICEH) at the Federal University of Pelotas, Brazil, is dedicated to advancing global health equity. As a WHO Collaborating Center, we work alongside esteemed partners such as Countdown to 2030, UNICEF, GAVI, and PAHO. Our research focuses on reproductive, maternal, neonatal, and adolescent health, plus nutrition (RMNCAH+N), with a commitment to equity. The Center has strong academic work in SDG indicator coverage and equity monitoring and in pushing the boundaries of equity research. The Center also has fruitful country collaborations involving researchers and policymakers.

We are seeking enthusiastic research assistants to join our multidisciplinary team. You will engage in cutting-edge research using national health survey data and routine data and will be involved in technical work analyzing DHS and MICS surveys. The key activities to be undertaken are to conduct research and data analysis related to RMNCAH + N, collaborate with researchers and policymakers across Latin America, the Caribbean, and sub-Saharan Africa, and contribute to academic publications in high-profile journals.

Candidates should have a PhD in public health, epidemiology, statistics, data science or related fields, work experience in public health, knowledge of Stata or R, and familiarity with survey data. Command of the English language is also required. Experience in academic publishing is desirable. We expect our team members to work full-time, based in Pelotas. We celebrate diversity in our team and encourage applicants from all backgrounds.
