WHO launches 2015 State of Inequality Report: reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health

The WHO launches its 2015 State of Inequality Report: reproductive, maternal, newborn and child health on next 15 June at the Pan-American Health Organization headquarters in Washington DC. The report draws on data from 86 low- and middle-income countries from all world regions, encompassing the latest status of inequality and changes over time across 23 health indicators. Cesar Victora will give a seminar at UNICEF in New York

Professor Cesar G. Victora of International Center for Equity in Health (ICEH) will present a seminar entitled "Child health: is equity improving?" at the UNICEF headquarters in New York (USA) on April 15th at 2 PM. The seminar will provide an update on the work carried out at the ICEH regarding trends in inequalities in intervention coverage in 98 countries.

Professor John Lynch visits the ICEH

John Lynch, the distinguished epidemiologist from University of Adelaide, visited the ICEH today. During the visit, we had the opportunity to discuss ongoing research and possible collaboration between the ICEH and Professor Lynch's group in Australia. Aluisio Barros participated on a Family Planning workshop in NYC

The workshop took part on 2015-02-25 at the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in New York City. The goal was to discuss about several papers where the main subject was Family Planning. Advances in methods and techniques: The Equiplot

In our quest to improve the presentation of equity data we explored several different alternatives and the one of choice to compare absolute inequality between interventions, countries, or even time trends is the “equiplot”. Number of maternal deaths must be reduced by half in Brazil
