The International Center for Equity in Health is selecting post-doctoral researchers
The International Center for Equity in Health (ICEH, www.equidade.org), at the Federal University of Pelotas, is selecting post-doctoral researchers to work on global health, with a focus on reproductive, maternal, neonatal, adolescent health and nutrition (RMNCAH +N).
Profile
- PhD degree in Epidemiology or related areas, such as Statistics or Public Health
- Strong background in statistical analysis
- Experience in writing papers (in English)
- Average to high level of skill with data analysis and coding on Stata or R
- Some experience in use of survey data, such as DHS or MICS
Tasks to be developed
- Work in routine reanalysis of survey data, including database preparation, revising codes, data analysis, consistency checks and related tasks
- Participate in specific research projects with major ICEH partners such as UNICEF, GAVI, WHO and PAHO
- Develop a research plan using survey data with a focus on health equity to be carried out during a one-year period, resulting in papers to be published in academic journals

Selection process
- The selection process will be done remotely in three phases
- Analysis of documentation
- Suitable candidates will be invited to sit a practical test consisting of data analysis using Stata dataset
- Successful candidates will be invited to an online interview with ICEH staff on dates to be scheduled according to mutual availability
Place of work and starting date
- Successful candidate(s) will work at the ICEH, located in the Post-Graduate Program in Epidemiology, at Federal University of Pelotas (UFPel), Brazil: Rua Marechal Deodoro, 1160, 3rd floor. CEP 96020-220
- The postdocs will be officially linked to the Postgraduate Program of Epidemiology, UFPel and will receive a certificate at the end of the period
- A monthly stipend of R$ 7.650,00 will be paid to the postdocs that will be paid in the form of a scholarship
- The proposed starting date is November 1st, 2022. The agreement term is for a workload of 40 hours/week with a duration of 12 months, with the possibility of renewal.
