ICEH contributes to Unicef report on Global Challenges to Child Nutrition
One in every three children under five years of age in the world is malnourished or overweight, while half are deficient in essential vitamins and minerals, a phenomenon known as hidden hunger. These are some of the warnings contained in the report “State of the World’s Children 2019”, launched on Monday, October 14th, by the United Nations Children’s Fund (Unicef). The document, which brings together original data and analyses on food and child nutrition globally, is the result of the work of an international network of health agencies and research institutions, with the participation of the International Center for Equity in Health (ICEH), at the Universidade Federal de Pelotas.
