ICEH launches new “Indicators” page as part of the ICEH repository documentation

The ICEH has launched a new indicators page as part of the initiative to improve the documentation of the ICEH repository. It was designed to help users explore and better understand the full range of health indicators available across the ICEH repository which can be accessed through the ICEH Retriever.
The ICEH Repository compiles population-representative data from large-scale household surveys, with a strong emphasis on understanding disparities both within and between countries.
The newly released page organizes these indicators into major thematic areas — including child vaccination, sexual and reproductive health, antenatal care, breastfeeding, nutritional status, household conditions, gender, mortality, fertility, and more —making it easier for users to navigate the breadth of available information.
Rather than presenting a long list of individual indicators, the page takes a more analytical approach. Each thematic group is described in terms of its relevance for population health, the types of measures it includes, and the kinds of policy and research questions it can help address. This structure is intended to support researchers, policymakers, and analysts into quickly identifying which domains are most relevant to their work.
Fully accessible via ICEH Retriever
All indicators featured on the page are fully accessible through the ICEH Retriever, where users can obtain ready-to-use estimates disaggregated by key equity dimensions such as socioeconomic status, education, sex, and other population characteristics. This integration ensures that users can seamlessly move from conceptual understanding to data extraction and analysis.
Users interested in detailed indicator specifications — including definitions, denominators, stratifications, and data availability — can refer to the accompanying indicator definitions spreadsheet.
The new page is now live and available to everyone interested in the ICEH Repository.
